The Hague- Through Akaji’s eyes!

Have you ever wondered at the ways God answers our prayers…

Quite frankly, we may just have to think outside the box to realize that our desires have been without our realizing it. You see, the problem with us is not only do we want a “yes” answer from God; we may also have a road map of how the “yes” answer ought to unfold.

Take me, I love love LOVE to travel. I love to see new places, try new cuisine, experience diverse cultures and their fashion and of course shop… wink wink. In fact I have a list of cities I want to visit and experience all they have to offer.

I digress… so what has my love for travel got to do with God answering prayers? Well let’s just say it took a chat with my big sis Haj for me to realize that my current lifestyle is Gods answer to my desire to see the world. I currently live the expatriate life… HUGE GRIN. So, I have the opportunity of going places and living in lovely cities and oftentimes not on our tab. I do not know about you but that is an amazingly awesome answer to my travel prayers/desire!

For the last two years, home for me has been The Hague, in the Kingdom of Netherlands. Popularly known as the seat of Government in the Netherlands as well as having the International Court of Justice, the Hague is a beautiful city. It is not as boisterous as Amsterdam or as big as Rotterdam but it commands enough panache to keep one interested.

Scheveningen Beach Fireworks Festival – Watched this from our hotel (the famous Kurhaus Hotel) and I think the Dutch won in 2013. My little ones and I enjoyed the display thoroughly7!

The Steigenberger Kurhaus Hotel – When God answers a prayer, He does so in grand style… we spent our last weeks as guests here… everyone thought we were celebrities or VIP guests. LOL!

  1. Thank God for answer to prayers *widegrin* He is ever faithful and ever sure. The Netherlands is a beautiful country I like the fact that they place emphasis on Agriculture with large hectares of land being farmland. Personally I would love. To visit the Hague one day(oh lord. Grant this desire lol)

  2. Thank God for answer to prayers *widegrin* He is ever faithful and ever sure. Personally I would love to visit the Hague one day(oh lord grant this desire lol) I have only gone through the Schipol airport in Amsterdam en route to Germany and I noticed that they place emphasis on Agriculture with large hectares of land being used as farm land. That scenery was fantastic and somehow I wished we could utilize our resources like that.

  3. I love the two bicycles the mother’s used in carrying their kids
I have only ever read about Prague in my secondary school
A book called Prague Counterpart I think
Hitler was chasing some 4 or 6 year old triplets and they had to escape to Prague
    Very interesting book.

    1. Awesome! I love the bicycles and the lovely flowers. Just seems like such a “full of life” place to be bursting with such blooms. This is Hague, though. Different from Prague. The Hague is where the world court is, in Netherlands.
